The Walk for Peace is a long-distance spiritual pilgrimage undertaken by a group of about 19 Buddhist monks from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., with the aim of promoting peace, compassion, loving-kindness, and mindfulness across the United States. The monks began their journey on October 26, 2025, setting out from Fort Worth, Texas, and after walking approximately 2,300 miles through ten states over 108 days (about 15 weeks), they arrived in Washington, D.C. in early February 2026 for concluding ceremonies around the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. Their pace typically ranged around 20-30 miles per day, and they documented the walk online, drawing thousands of supporters along the route and millions who followed via social media.
